The inspiration of Jesus must be translated from the ideal into the real. The Gospel spirit should be evident in a Christian way of thought and life which permeates all facets of the educational climate”.
Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Today at assembly we will be celebrating Solemnity for The Assumption of Mary, which is celebrated on August 15th. It is a Catholic feast day that recognises and celebrates the special qualities and uniqueness of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Mary gave her whole life to God, listening to his message and “Yes” even when it was going to make her life difficult. The Assumption celebrates Mary being welcomed into God’s presence at the end of her earthly life. It's a significant event for Catholics, as it highlights the special role Mary played in Jesus' life and her closeness to God.
On Wednesday we celebrated our 3 - 6 Athletics Day. It was great to see so many smiling faces and proud children as they challenged themselves against their peers. A very big thank you to Amy Laverty for her organising and running of the day, and the teachers for their work in running events or supervising students throughout the day - it all went so smoothly!
Thank you also to the many parents who stepped in to help the day run smoothly. We also greatly appreciate the support of Catholic College Sale VM students who ran events throughout the day. It would not be possible for a day like this to occur without all the support we received!
