Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
Please know that all staff are thinking of their families, wishing you well and mindful of the challenges Remote Schooling may bring to you.
This week, students in Years Three to Six have accessed the Google Meet platform. This forum allows students to meet with their teacher and each other via video conferencing. It is most important that families abide by the guidelines to ensure the safety of all parties. A letter reminding students and parents of Google Meet guidelines and that of the government’s E-safety Commissioner went home yesterday. We ask all parents and guardians to continue regular conversations about online safety, the appropriate use of school email accounts and the Google Meet platform.
Today, you will find photos of our School Captains Bonnie Johnson and James Arnup laying the wreath at the Cenotaph on Anzac Day. We take time to honour the men and women who have fought in past wars and who are currently serving our country in various ways. It was lovely to see so many in our communities commemorate Anzac Day in their driveways and front yards.
As we continue with Remote Schooling, teachers are planning and preparing the next set of packs and learning schedules for classes. In an effort to make things manageable, we will ask families to pick up the next set of learning packs from the school, next Friday, May 8th from 8am to 4pm. Until further notice, learning packs will be organised for two week periods and will need to be picked up on a fortnightly basis.
Any school items included in previous packs such as readers are to be returned, as they will need to be cleaned before being utilised again. Thank you.
Learning packs will be available in the stadium and we will follow the same procedure as the end of Term One. Packs will be organised in class groups and you are to enter via the stadium foyer and exit out the other side. There will be limited staff onsite and social distancing will need to be observed. Hand sanitiser will be available upon entering.
As we continue to work together to achieve the best outcomes for our children, I sincerely thank you for your support. Your availability and regular feedback to staff is welcomed.
Enjoy your weekend and take care

This week we have some more great photos sent in from families and teachers showing some of our students in their remote schooling spaces and some of the work the students are doing. Our families are really enjoying these photos so please keep them coming! If you'd like to send in a photo please send it to reception@sttsale.catholic.edu.au
Even though we all experienced a very different ANZAC Day this year, our school was still able to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph, Sale. Thank you for representing our school, James and Bonnie.

Wellington Shire Council has established a new Click and Deliver library service to assist the community with reading material and other resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While uptake of the online resources available through Wellington libraries has been strong, some patrons were missing the feeling of reading a physical book and others didn’t have internet access.
Wellington Shire Council Mayor Alan Hall said library staff had put considerable work into establishing the Click and Deliver service, abiding by all current COVID-19 restrictions and health advice.
“We understand how important our local library services are to many in our Wellington communities and we expect the Click and Deliver service to be popular,” he said.
“Feedback already from those who have received a delivery of books from their local librarian has been fantastic.
“It is a very simple process for the library member to navigate, they just need to phone their local library or place an On Hold request through the online catalogue.
“Library staff will then make contact to organise a mutually convenient time to deliver the books or other resources such as DVDs, magazines and the like – it’s that easy.”
Cr Hall said like many other organisations, Wellington Shire Council had to become innovative about how it continued to provide services to the community during the pandemic.
“Thank-you to all our Wellington residents who have heeded the Chief Health Officer’s warning to stay at home during this time and we are pleased Wellington Shire Council has been able to provide a delivery service so you can stay connected with your local libraries.”
