CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
Once again, we begin a new period of Remote Schooling. Teachers have worked swiftly to prepare learning programs and packs over a two day period and are now ready to support children and families online with their learning. I sincerely thank all families for their co-operation and responding to the various messages sent out by teachers and administration this week. We ask that you look out for regular updates and continue to communicate with your child’s classroom teacher. Reception is always on hand to answer any questions you may have at this time.
For those onsite, I ask families to ensure children come along with their pencil cases and learning packs. Glue and scissors are to be included. Children cannot share equipment and having the necessary supplies makes the day run much smoother. A hard copy of information released online regarding onsite learning was sent home yesterday. Please check details.Thank you.
Please know that students onsite will undergo temperature checks starting next week. Temperature checks as a public health measure in schools will support the identification of unwell children. Temperature screening does not replace the need for other important public health measures such as hand hygiene and enhanced cleaning and disinfection. Temperature checks of students will be conducted by school staff in the morning on a daily basis prior to the student entering school. This will be at the Gumnuts gate. In addition, temperature checks may be conducted on those students who present as being unwell during the school day. Children with a temperature equal to or in excess of 37.5 celsius on a second reading, 15 minutes after the first, will require the parent to come and collect their child.
This Saturday, we celebrate the feast of Mother Mary of the Cross, Mary MacKillop. Mary established the Josephite order of nuns. These sisters carried out the work of Christ through their teaching ministry. Many of their schools were established outside of cities to ensure that all children were able to access an education. Today, many of the sisters work within parishes supporting families. We are fortunate to have many of our local schools established by the Josephites. We pray for the Josephite sisters who have committed their lives to serving God and others.
This week, our Foundation students also celebrate “One Hundred Days of School”. Although not at school, we wish them the very best and congratulate them on their achievement.
Take care,
Anita & Staff
