CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
CONDOLENCES
We extend our condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Liz McCormick upon the death of her husband Adrian, father to Jaxon in Yr 2H. We pray they may find comfort in their family and friends at this sad time.
BOOK WEEK
This week, we celebrated Book Week with children having the opportunity to listen to and explore the content of some of this year’s shortlisted books and also enjoy some of their favourite stories and authors. We always enjoy our Dress Up Day and love the colour and smiles that the day brings. We hope you enjoy the photos included in today’s newsletter.
FOUNDATION ORIENTATION
Foundation Orientation Days will begin next Friday, November 6th 2020 with further sessions scheduled for November 13th 2020 and November 20th 2020. We look forward to meeting all our children over these three days and particularly welcome our new families. Details were sent to families this week.
WELCOME
We welcome four new students and their families to St Thomas’.
Taj and Blake in Year 5
Jasmine in Yr 3 and Chloe in Foundation. I thank our children for helping them settle into our school community.
CHILD SAFETY
As advised yesterday, children are no longer required to have temperature checks upon entering the school grounds. Staggered starts remain in place and all adult entry, if essential, may take place via the school foyer. We continue to encourage children to wash their hands, and to practise appropriate coughing and sneezing etiquette. Once again, we thank parents and guardians for their support to ensure the safety of the school community within the COVID-19 context.
Please know we continue to keep abreast of the changes taking place around COVID-19 restrictions and how they impact schools. We receive daily updates from our Head Office and work within the guidelines set by authorities.
LONG WEEKEND FOR FAMILIES
Just a reminder, that Monday, November 2nd 2020 will be a School Closure day, alongside the Melbourne Cup public holiday which falls on Tuesday November 3rd 2020. Teachers will use the Monday to collate information and to begin report writing.
ALL SAINTS DAY
All Saints Day is celebrated this Sunday, November 1st. This is an annual celebration within the Catholic Church Calendar. We celebrate all those who have dedicated their life to God and shared His message to love and serve others. We acknowledge the many people today who serve others and follow the ways of Christ.
We celebrate the many gifts they share to support and enrich the life of others.
Wishing you all an enjoyable break.
