CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
We have enjoyed a busy week of festivities to celebrate 50 years of Catholic Education in the Sale community. Fr Peter Bickley celebrated Mass for students and staff and we thank him for his time. We celebrated the Graduation of our Yr 6 students, our 50 year celebrations and the end of a busy and extraordinary year.
Our Foundation students forwarded messages of thanks and a photo scroll to their Yr 6 buddies, Indy and Will Foster presented a piece of art work on behalf of their grandmother Kaylene Wheeler to acknowledge our 50 year birthday and we asked Fr Peter to bestow a special blessing upon Mrs Dallas Papworth who retires at the end of this year, after 42 years of service at St Thomas’. It was a lovely Mass filled with a spirit of thanks and warmth. I hope you enjoy the photos included in today’s newsletter as we try to catch the many moments of this week.
Next week, we look forward to our Yr 6 Graduation. All families must register their attendance for contact tracing purposes and also to identify numbers attending for the evening. A QR code system has been prepared for the evening, however we are still asking families to register to confirm numbers. If you have not registered, please do so no later than 4pm Monday, December 14th 2020.
All permission slips for Yr 6 Graduation activities offsite must be returned in order for students to attend. Please check that these forms have been completed. Again, no later than 4pm Monday, December 14th 2020.
Reports will go out today together with class allocations for your child.
We are seeking two teachers for 2021 and positions have been advertised. Families will be notified as soon as the vacancies have been filled. At present, we are seeking teachers for a Year One Class and a Year Four class.
Jade Allman, Kayla Holmes, Ann Vaughan and Liz Foat will also be leaving us at the end of the school year. We thank them for their contribution to St Thomas’ and wish them well in their new endeavours.
“Thank you”
