Our school is a place of faith and learning
THE OLYMPIC SPIRIT
Remote Schooling
We thank you for all your efforts during this lockdown period and we look forward to our children returning next Wednesday.
We respect and acknowledge that each family's circumstance is different and what may work for some during Remote Schooling may not for others. We have early morning learning for some and end of the day learning for others. We ask that you do what works best for your family and seek assistance if necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher who is available online from 9am to 1pm. Teachers are happy to email or chat to you individually or to google meet with your child/children for further explanations. We only ask that an adult is always present during these times.
1.40pm to 3.15pm is an opportunity for teachers to touch base with parents, complete marking and provide feedback on set tasks as well as plan or prepare for the next day.
We ask parents and guardians to ensure children have forwarded their work to teachers so that feedback can be provided. Your child’s teacher will provide details of what is to be shared with them and how.
Please know that feedback is provided to inform students of what they have achieved in terms of the skills, strategies and knowledge they have displayed and the next step in their learning. Teachers will provide students with feedback that is formative and focuses on their next learning challenge, providing the opportunity to keep learning and improving.
Return to School
Pre-planned activities will need to be reviewed in line with Department of Health guidelines. The number of permitted activities have been reduced and we will need to monitor what events can still take place when we return and during the weeks that follow.
Child Safety
We remind parents to speak to their children about online safety and refer to the E- Safety Commissioner website for ideas of how to keep your children safe online.
A Prayer for My School
God, please bless my school. Thank You for all of the teachers that work so hard to help us learn. Thank You for recess and lunchtime, when we get to play with our friends. Thank You for providing a place where we can learn more about the world You created for us to live in, and how it works. Please keep my school safe. Protect all of the grown ups and kids that come to school everyday. Protect us from harm, and help us to be kind to each other.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

School Photos 2021 – St. Thomas’ Catholic Primary School
Annual school photos including sibling photos will be taken at St. Thomas’ Catholic Primary School by Arthur Reed Photos on Wednesday August 4th, 2021.
There is no need to return any forms or money to school.
Unique image codes will be issued to all students on/after photo day so families can register online to view images when they become available in the webshop.
Registration is simple, just follow the 3 simple steps on your child’s personalised flyer once you receive it and remember to add the codes for all your children attending this school.
Even if you registered last year, it’s important that you do again this year using your child’s 2021 image code to link their images for the current year with your contact details.
When images are ready to view and in the webshop, all parents who have registered will be notified by SMS and email.
Once registered, please wait for notification that 2021 images are online to view before making your purchase.
