Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your patience and support as we work towards maintaining 'normality' for our children, whilst preparing for what may come. I hope the flowchart shared with families in our last major communication sheds some light on the decision making processes involved in determining whether our diocesan Catholic schools are to remain open or to close. Please know that we respect the opinions and decisions of all our families at this time and will work with you to ensure your child is the first priority with regard to their wellbeing and learning.
Attached to the newsletter is a letter from Bishop Pat O’Reagan outlining the decisions of the Church with regard to celebrating Masses and liturgies. In light of this letter, all school Masses will be cancelled until further notice. We are awaiting further information regarding the sacramental program. There will be opportunities for liturgies and prayer on a smaller scale within individual classes, however, these celebrations will not be open to families and visitors.
As communicated previously, we are intending to enable students and teachers to work from home in the event of a school closure due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This preparation continues to take place and our aim will be to provide a package of material with details to support you and your child/children should schools be closed. This will be shared when a decision is made to close the school.
At present, families who have elected to keep their children home for the remainder of the term can communicate with their child’s teacher regarding the last week of term. Teachers will be able to share with families learning tasks that can be completed at home during this final week.
We remind all children to bring their drink bottles to school ready to start the day with bottles filled. We also remind you to continue sharing the message of good hygiene and hand washing regularly.
As we head into the final week of school, we congratulate all our children for their work this term. They have been marvellous.
Thank you once again to families who have donated eggs and items for the Easter raffle. This will be drawn next week. Winners will be announced in an Edsmart broadcast and to children towards the end of next week.
Take care,
Anita and Staff
Students are not to arrive at school until 8.30am. We have an increasing number of children arriving before this time. Supervision of students begins from 8.30am. If your child is travelling by bike, they may need to leave home a little later.
These students will receive their awards in their classrooms.

Gippsland Regional Swimming Championships
Congratulations to our team of 11 students who competed at the Gippsland Regional Swimming Championships last week in Warragul. The team performed exceptionally well competing against Gippsland's best swimmers. The results were as follows:
- 3rd: U/12 Mixed Medley Relay
- 3rd: U/12 Boys Freestyle Relay
- 3rd: James Arnup, U/12 Boys Butterfly
- 3rd Tara Dihood, U/12 Girls Butterfly
- 1st: Tara Dihood, U/12 Girls Freestyle
Placing in this event is an amazing effort. Special mention must go to Tara Dihood for her outstanding performance to win the U/12 Girls Freestyle event. Tara has progressed through to the State Swimming championships. Due to the corona virus, this event has been postponed at this stage. Congratulations to Tara and all of the students who competed. Thank you to Natasha Dihood for acting as team manager and to all parents for their support on the day.
A BIG THANK YOU!
The P & F would like to send out a big thank you to all the helpers we had for Hot Cross Bun day. Without your help, these events could not happen.
