Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
ADVENT
Next Monday at Assembly, students will celebrate the beginning of Advent, the season of waiting and preparing for Christmas. It is a time to reflect on how we live the message of Christ, to love and serve others, sharing the spirit of peace, hope and joy. Among the challenges that present themselves in following the way of Christ, we are reminded of God’s everlasting love and forgiveness when we stumble. We look forward to lighting the Advent Candles in coming weeks in readiness to celebrate the birth of Christ.
What do the four candles of Advent symbolize within the Catholic Church?
The four Sundays preceding Christmas, which is when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, are recognized for four virtues. The candles on the Advent wreath symbolize hope, love, joy and peace.
Foundation 2022 Transition
Today, we held the first of two scheduled Transition Days for our Foundation 2022 classes.
It was lovely to have the children with us this morning. We look forward to working with all our students and families as they begin their education and faith journey with us.
Year 6 Camp
Next week , our Year Six children will be attending camp. We are excited for them and thank teachers, learning support officers and volunteers for their time. It is a huge responsibility taking children on camp, but see it as an opportunity to develop a variety of social and personal skills, including resilience and responsibility. We look forward to hearing all their stories when they return.
Year 6 Graduation
At present, Year 6 Graduation will take place and is scheduled for Tuesday, December 14th 2021, It will begin with Mass at the Cathedral (to be confirmed) at 5.45pm followed by a picnic tea and Graduation ceremony at school. Further details will be shared with families by classroom teachers as we draw closer to the event.
Cinema morning
A cinema morning is currently scheduled for children in Years 3, 4 & 5 on Wednesday December 15th. Details and permission slips will go out within the next fortnight.
Junior Athletics
Students in Foundation, Year 1&2 will enjoy an Athletics Day on Friday, December 10th, 2021.
Again, teachers will share details with families, closer to the event.
Take care
Anita Little

Grade 6 Social Justice Team
Can Drive and A Better Life For Foster Kids
A reminder that this term the Grade 6s will be running two Social Justice activities. We hope that our school community will get behind us and support these two initiatives.
St Vinnies Can Drive
We are asking for donations of canned food that we will give to St Vinnies for people in need. Each class has a basket in their classrooms for donated food items. This will be running until the last week of school.
A Better Life for Foster Kids
We are also collecting donated items for ‘A Better Life for Foster Kids’. This is a Gippsland-based charity that supports children and carers in the out-of-home-care system. Some items that could be donated may include clothing, toiletries, baby supplies, activity books, blankets and toys.
The Grade 6 students will also collect these items up until the end of term.

To donate you can drop off gifts or money donation to our office at 126 Raymond Street Sale or call to find out more.
If you are needing extra help this year, please call us on 03 5144 77 77
